Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Oh dear.

Are you wondering whether we've reached peak Pokemon?
Are you, like one angry Canadian man, hoping that the hordes of Pokemon Go players will soon get off your lawn?
There's evidence that the game might be plateauing. On the other hand, it's now reached the higher levels of government.
As CNN reports, last Thursday State Department spokesman John Kirby was giving a briefing about ISIS to journalists.
Suddenly, he stopped.
"You're playing the Pokemon thing right there, aren't you?" said Kirby to an unnamed journalist, according to the CNN footage of the briefing.
The journalist reportedly confessed to his misdeed, as if it was the most normal thing on earth.
"I'm just keeping an eye on it," he said.
Oh, that's alright then.
You might imagine that Kirby would have been a touch exasperated. Here was a journalist, there to listen to details about fighting a terrorist organization, who couldn't tear himself away from the game du jour.
But Kirby is a professional. He continued with his briefing.
Until, that is, he turned to the reporter again, "Did you get one?" he asked.
The journalist, seeming still not to offer even a tinge of embarrassment, replied: "No, the signal's not very good."
Kirby looked at him with eyes barely concealing contempt and lips that would have dearly loved to tell him what he really thought,
Instead, he said: "I'm sorry about that."
Some might hope that the journalist did get more than a nasty stare from his employer when he got back to the office.

But it's not as if politicians themselves are immune from turning to gadgets when they're on official business.
There was the Indonesian anti-porn lawmaker who was caught on his iPad during a parliamentary debate. Oddly, he was watching porn.
During a parliamentary debate in Italy, a politician was caught surfing an escort site. (He blamed the iPad.)
And then there was Senator John McCain. He was caught playing smartphone poker during a debate about Syria.
Gadgets have us all in their grip. Soon, they'll be running the country.
The State Department declined to comment or provide further details on the incident.

4 Olympic weightlifting champions fail doping retests By Associated Press Published: 13:23 BST, 16 June 2016 | Updated: 13:23 BST, 16 June 2016 e-mail BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Four Olympic weightlifting gold medalists from Kazakhstan have been provisionally suspended after their doping samples were positive in retests from the 2012 London Games. The four champions were among 10 athletes from five former Soviet countries whose samples revealed banned substances, the International Weightlifting Federation said late Wednesday. The Kazakhs were men's 94-kilogram champion Ilya Ilyin, and women's gold medalists Zulfiya Chinshanlo (53kg), Maiya Maneza (63kg) and Svetlana Podobedova (75kg). If all four are disqualified, Kazakhstan would drop from 12th to 23rd in the 2012 medal standings. Kazakhstan's Olympic committee, which revealed earlier that its athletes recorded five positives in retests from Beijing and London, said on Thursday that the four lifters' participation at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics "remains an open question" pending an IWF investigation and the completion of sample retests. "We will conduct our own investigation of the possible misconduct of our athletes and violation of anti-doping rules," the committee said, adding that the four lifters have been suspended last Friday. Three more medalists tested positive: Russia's Apti Aukhadov, who won silver at 85kgs, Ukraine's Yuliya Kalina, bronze at 58kgs, and Belarus' Marina Shkermankova, bronze at 69kgs. Completing the group of doping positives were Boyanka Kostova from Azerbaijan, and Dzina Sazanavets and Yauheni Zharnasek of Belarus. The IWF said more information about the IOC retesting of samples taken at the 2008 Beijing Games, where 10 cases were "presumed" positives that required B sample analyses, would be released "as soon as possible." The 20 weightlifting cases were among 55 total positives which the IOC has reported so far, including 32 from Beijing and 23 from London. The IOC is retesting samples to catch cheats who might be competing at the Rio Olympics. ___ Ellingworth reported from Marseille, France. burkecounty-ga.gov proxy1.library.jhu.edu/login?url=https://asiaporntube.pro

BERLIN, Sept 30 (Reuters) - The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries condemned Russia's proclaimed annexation of four Ukrainian regions on Friday as a "new low point" in the war and vowed to take further action against Moscow.
"We will never recognise these purported annexations, nor the sham 'referenda' conducted at gunpoint," said a statement from the top diplomats of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.
"We will impose further economic costs on Russia, and on individuals and entities - inside and outside of Russia - that provide political or economic support to these violations of international law," it added.

BERLIN (AP) - Police in Germany said Friday they detained a man for resisting arrest and biting a service dog.
Officers were called to a dispute between two 29-year-old men and a 35-year-old woman in the western town of Ginsheim-Gustavsburg shortly after midnight.
The trio acted in an "extremely aggressive and uncooperative" fashion, police said in a statement.
Officers were only able to overpower one of the men by using "massive physical force," it said.
"In the course of resisting arrest the 29-year-old man also bit a police dog," the statement said, adding that the canine did not sustain any injuries.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old woman injured a police officer with a punch to the face.
All three were detained and spent the rest of the night in jail to sober up.
